Do you ever think that it would be nice to get away from the crowds? That’s not always easy to do, especially if you’re planning to spend time in Europe. There are a lot of people living here and plenty more people arrive as tourists.
So what can you do about this problem? Some people choose to travel out of season. They realise that the most popular locations, such as London, Paris and Rome, will be busy during the summer months. So they choose to visit in the spring or autumn. This can certainly work quite well.
The weather may not be as warm, but that’s not necessarily a problem. In fact, if you’re planning to do a lot of exploring then you probably won’t want the weather to be too hot. An alternative would, of course, be to accept the presence of the crowds and to simply visit at the busiest time of year.
But there may be a better option. How about heading to some great places in Europe that simply have fewer visitors? There are some great places that still remain something of a secret to many tourists. One such place is Galway.
Do you know much about Galway? You may not have even heard of it before, but the city of Galway is located in the west of Ireland. It’s surrounded by beautiful countryside and the city itself is a fantastic mixture of traditional Irish heritage and modern, cosmopolitan living.
These help to make it a wonderful place to visit. It’s well known that Ireland doesn’t get great weather too often – but you’ll find that it doesn’t really matter – there’s so much to do in Galway, whether rain or shine. Why more people don’t make their way to this beautiful Irish city is something of a mystery.
It’s a great example of how some great places in Europe remain relatively unknown.
