Located in Kenya, Nairobi is known to be the capital city and the largest city of this country. Nairobi is known as “Green City in the Sun”, because there are several villa suburbs surrounding this city. As Kenya located in Africa continent, it is given that this country has many savanna animal variants lived in it, including in Nairobi. As Nairobi known for its Giraffe population, this country has built a Giraffe Centre to protect their natural treasure. African Fund for Endangered Wildlife or known as Giraffe Centre is built to protect Rothschild Giraffe, an endangered giraffe species that can only be found in East Africa. Built in 1983 by Leslie-Melville, this place was used to be a breeding center for Rothschild Giraffe and after the owner raised enough money it then change to conservation. The Giraffe Centre is located in Langata and their opening hours is starting from 9.00 AM to 5.PM. The most famous tourist activity in this place is feeding the giraffe from an observation platform. While the main activity of Giraffe Centre is as a breeding center of the giraffe, nowadays this place has starting many other activities such as giving education to students that come to the Giraffe Centre through a program called Conservation Education. The main goal of this activity is to teach environmental issues to the youth as they are going to be our future leader.

As green scenery is harder to be found nowadays, Nairobi has a beautiful park located near it. The park that is called Nairobi National Park and is located only 7 km from the center of Nairobi City makes this park the only protected area in the world that is located near a city. This park is a savannah ecosystem with open grass plains and various animals and plants live and grow inside it. Some of many wildlife animals you can see in here are rhino, cheetah, buffalo, zebra and giraffe which are also the main attractions of this park. While enjoying the savannah ecosystem, this park provides you with several activities such as game viewing and also a place available for family or company picnic. This park is also available for bush dinners, wedding, team building sessions or film production.

Another reservation place in Nairobi is the Karen Blixen Museum that is located at the foot of the Ngong Hills.  This house was first built in 1912 and then bought by Karen and his husband in 1917. Living in here, Karen then write a biography about her life with title “Out of Africa”, the book itself is a huge success and then was made into film which is also a success. After the success of the film, more visitors are coming to the house, wanting to know more about the place where the events in the book takes place. Karen Blixen Museum is open from 9.30 AM to 6.00 PM everyday including public holiday and it also offer a tour guide. This museum is also available for weddings and corporate events

If you love rose coral then you can choose brain coral sites, in where you can see a very large rose coral with a lot of different fish species swimming near it.

As Watamu is known for its marine life reservation, there is also an organization in here that manage the reservation life. One of those organizations is the Watamu Turtle Watch. This organization is established in 1997 to develop marine turtle conservation focusing for turtle activities in Watamu and Malindi area. There are 3 main programs of this organization and is it open for public, those programs are marine turtle nest protection and monitoring program, marine turtle net release and tagging program and the last one is sea turtle rehabilitation center. All of those programs combined together to create an environment able to sustain the life of the turtle in Watamu beach. The programs are starting from the egg until taking care of sick turtles before returned them back into the wild.

The interesting place in Watamu seems never get too far from its Marine Park and Reserve area. The Mida Creek Reserve in Watamu is East Africa’s largest mangrove creek that holds a very important part in Watamu Marine Eco-system life. While the main purpose of the mangrove forest is to provide nutrition for the underwater animal, this place is known to be a great bird viewing sites. The best place for bird watching in Mida Creek Reserve is on the head of the creek and can be reached from dirt road just opposite the Mida Entrance. Some people rent canoe and motorboats to ensure their bird watching activities and to see around the mangrove forest. This place becomes a national museum now, with its ancient building and the plants that grow all over it. Based on the architecture of the building left in this city, researchers predict that this city was a wealthy city with Swahili unique architectural style. This city was made national park in 1948 and excavation has been done since then until 1958. You can access this area through airplane with Serena Airstrips and KichwaTembo Airstrip. The best time to visit this place is from July to October during the Wildebeest migration. Giza in Egypt is known to be a city with advanced technology yet holds magnificent ancient structure in its plateau. Coming to Giza, the first place people would visit would be its pyramids. From the location of the pyramids that is said to be based on stellar constellation until the curses inside the pyramids to keep the body of their dead pharaoh intact. Pyramids of Giza are complex of pyramids in Giza consists of 3 big pyramids which are the Pyramid of Khufu, Pyramid of Khafre and Pyramid of Menkaure. Those 3 pyramids has been the center of tourist attraction and also the main reason why people would want to spend their holiday in Giza. It is said that the Pyramids of Giza act as the final resting place of Egypt ancient king or usually called as Pharaoh. Ancient Egyptian believes that when a human died, not all of his spirit leaving his body, some part remains which called Ka. Due to that reason a proper burial for the pharaoh is needed and also several other items to be used by him in the afterlife. The pyramids while act as the tomb also act as the storage of these items.

The biggest and oldest pyramid in the Giza complex is called Pyramid of Khufu or Great Pyramid of Giza. With height of 146.59 meters and base wide of 220 meters, this pyramid has been the tallest man made structure for 4500 years until 1888. Pyramid of Khufu is built between 2589 BC until 2566 BC under the command of Khufu son of Snefru and the 2nd ruler of the 4th dynasty. Three burial chambers are situated inside the pyramid; an underground chamber, the Queen’s chamber and the King’s chamber. While the Queen’s chamber is never intended to house one of Khufu’s wives but the statue of the king, the sarcophagus of Khufu is located inside the King’s chamber that is also at the center of the pyramid. Other interesting fact about this pyramid is that even though it has an enormous size, the architecture and accuracy of this pyramid is really high until the error is only 58 millimeters in length. A really great masterpiece considering the time this pyramid was built.

Other interesting structure in Giza is the Great Sphinx, statue of a creature with human head and lion’s body.  The scholar believes that Great Sphinx was built by Pharaoh Khafre thus it is located in front of Pyramid of Khafre. It is said that the body of the sphinx or the lion is acting as solar symbol and together with a king’s head symbolized power that controlled by the pharaoh intelligence and wisdom. Sphinx also said to be the guardian of cosmic order or Ma’at in Egypt. The statue of the Great Sphinx has length of 72.55 meters and height of 20.22 meters. Until now sphinx remains a mystery for scholars but it will always become the symbol of Egypt. Currently, a restoration is been done by the Egypt people to return the Sphinx to its magnificent shape.

It is called a ghost town because there are no people living there since a very long time ago. Even though the town is abandoned and some of the buildings are destroyed, there are still beautiful sculptures and arts which are still exist until today.

A Mellah is a walled city of Jewish quarter in Morocco. It served as a main settlement for Jewish people in Morocco from the beginning of 15th century to the 19th century. Mellah of Tazart was built by the Jews to give privilege and protection from Arabian attacks. However, as the town grew in population, it became a poor and miserable place. Later, because of a weather crisis and the water dried up, it was not possible to live there anymore. The town was finally abandoned by its people and it became a ghost town. Nowadays, it has become a main tourist destination in Morocco. It is highly accessible and has enough accommodation as the location is not far from Marrakech.

The city of Tazart itself can be reached by bus, car or the grand taxi. You can find the bus easily at bus station, and the car rentals are also easy to find in most big cities. You can also hire a driver or a guide which can be useful in a long term of your stay in Morocco. The grand taxi is a shared, long distance taxi with a specific rate for a specific route. It would take approximately 3 to 4 hours to reach Tazart from Marrakech. To reach the Mellah of Tazart, you can get a local bus. As for a place to stay for a night, you can find Dar Habiba hotel, 45 km North of Tazart.
