Another place that should not be missed while having a holiday in Rome is the State of the Vatican City. Located at the western area of Rome, Vatican City has become the center of Catholicism in the world for centuries. It is easy to get to the Vatican City by bus or taxi from Rome. While in Vatican City, you should visit the Vatican Museum which is best known for its double spiral staircase, Sistine Chapel, and Raphael Rooms. As you enter the museum, you will see the main corridor that leads to the Sistine Chapel, the most popular room in Vatican decorated by Michelangelo’s frescos. Following the next corridor, you will arrive at the Raphael Rooms and pass the elegant double staircase before exiting the building. The other place to visit in the center of Catholicism is the St. Peter’s Basilica, located not far from the museum. The beauty of the statues, the painting works, and the detail of the altars’ ornaments will charm to stay longer in St. Peter’s Basilica.

Actually, there is no enough word to enjoy the magnificent city of Rome. There are still bunch of historical places that are worth to visit. Since the canals are the main circulatory routes of the city, a great deal of maintenance is constantly being done on them. Canals are shallow – no more than 10-15 ft deep in many places – and are defined by spaces between the buildings that crowd their banks. The Acropolis hill so called the “Sacred Rock” of Athens is the most important site of the city and constitutes one of the most recognizable monuments of the world. It is the most significant reference point of ancient Greek culture, as well as the symbol of the city of Athens itself as it represent the apogee of artistic development in the 5th century BC. During Perikles’ Golden Age, ancient Greek civilization was represented in an ideal way on the hill and some of the architectural masterpieces of the period were erected on its ground. Now let me tell you the story about the legend of Athenian. According to a popular myth, Athena and Poseidon competed for the honor of being the patron of the city. The myth describes how the gods provided gifts in order to gain the people’s favor. Poseidon hit the Acropolis rock with his trident at the place where the Erechtheion was built later, and from the wounded earth a majestic horse arose as a gift to the citizens. Poseidon, the god of the sea and of earthquakes (of which Greece enjoys many) eventualy replaced the prehistoric Erechtheus, although Erechtheus continued to be worshiped alongside Athena on the Acropolis.

Athena is the name of an important goddess for the Greeks, the goddess of wisdom, a goddess of arts and crafts (agriculture, navigation, spinning, weaving, and needlework), the favorite daughter of her father Zeus, and, as a war goddess with a focus on strategy more than bloodshed, an active participant in the Trojan War. The city however was named after Athena, because she gave Athens the gift of the olive tree, providing oil, food, and wood. Interesting isn’t it?

Last but not least, you can take a tour or wander up there yourself but during the summer, whatever you do, unless it is overcast, go early or late in the day. It can get very hot up there and gasping for breath can take away from your ability to marvel at the greates of all archaeological sites.

More than anything, Glastonbury famous with its amazing festival. Other than a mystical centre of historical place, there is most famous festival in the world.
