The Sultan Mosque is a premier mosque which is located in the Muscat Street and North Bridge Road inside the Kampong Glam Malay Heritage District. Kampong Glam is the Malay-Arabic district in the middle of city area. This is a place for the tourists to learn the culture and understand the religion as well as the diversity in Singapore. The Malay Historic District is the center of the Muslim community in Singapore. The Sultan Mosque is the largest mosque in Singapore. It is built in 1824 by Sultan Husein. The prayer hall of this mosque can accommodate up to 5000 people. There are some activities such as the Missionary and Islamic Learning, Maulid Expo, Fund Raising, Social and Family Development, Intellectual Discussion, Wakaf, and any other religious activities. Volunteers are took part as a committee in such activities.
Abdul Gaffoor Mosque is located at Dunlop Street in Little India. The mosque built in 1907 and took few years to be completed. The prayer hall of this mosque is raised above the ground and surrounded with verandahs at the entrance and sides. In the main entrance to the prayer hall, there is sundial with 25 rays of the sunburst which are done in calligraphy. The number of 25 represents the 25 prophets in Islam. The architecture of this mosque is a typical of Indian and European. It painted in white with outlines in cream and green which is made the mosque looks very beautiful and we can see the touch of Indian architecture from the mosque
